DIY Craft projects: Using Old Windows

Here at Southland Exteriors, We discourage the public to do major Do it yourself projects on the exterior or interior of your home because of the troubles it can bring, and of course we would like to earn your business… That being said we highly encourage you to GO GREEN and take those leftover products after you have them replaced… GET Creative and put them to good use!!!

1. Make Your Own Greenhouse

Of all the creative projects that were going to talk about today, this is by far my favorite. Â What better way to recycle, and cut down on your grocery bill but to build your own greenhouse! Â Below are only a few examples of how this can be done. The more windows that you have replaced, the more materials you have to build a greenhouse to your liking, and for a fraction of the cost at what it would take to actually build a greenhouse from different materials.

2. Indoor Wall Decor

Yet Another way to save.. Customize your own Wall Decor. The Examples below are also just a few examples what you can do with your window panes after you replace your windows.

Have blank wall that probably could have used a window when built? Make one! Take a old window pane, and whatever scenic photo that you would like to place inside the window pane facing outward. This will create the illusion of having a window and fill up that empty wall space. Have blank wall that probably could have used a window when built? Make one! IMG_8061Perhaps you have a window without grids that you are just going to toss away. Instead, why not use the gridless peice of glass to do something creative in the front or back of the outside of your home. You can use it as an address sign, to display your last name, perhaps even a family crest, or something to match the outside decor of your home.
